How to cover up a tattoo with makeup in 3 easy steps

Your tattoos are really awesome. However, your interview for that swanky new job you really want is next Tuesday and potential new boss-to-be might not share your sentiment on tattoos.

Not to fear, this easy three step process uses makeup you probably already own to conceal that tat perfectly.

1. After prepping the area by cleansing with soap and water, cover the tattoo completely with a red-based lipstick. Apply 2-3 thin coats allowing the lipstick to dry in between coats. Tip: Using a synthetic brush to apply the lipstick will help ensure a seamless finish.

2. Brush on concealer that matches your skin tone. Again, you will want to apply 2-3 thin coats. Tip: Instead, you may choose to first brush on a cool toned concealer to camouflage the red. Then, after it dries use a concealer that matches your skin tone. This adds extra coverage if you have an especially dark or detailed tat.

3. Set the makeup by using a fluffy brush to dab translucent powder lightly over the tattooed area. You may also choose to add a small amount of setting spray for longer hold.

Now you have everything you need to know to hide that tat when you need to, but still show it off every other second of your life.
